I am happy to finally be able to teach voice full time as of January 2008! I have 12 years of teaching experience as a choral director, and 2 years as a private vocal coach. My approach to teaching voice is different than many in that I first believe that if you can talk, you can sing!! And beyond learning how to sing, read notes, and learning how to sing expressively, I help my students to gain a level of acceptance of themselves as a singer and as a human being. I help you to accept your unique instrument and to be non-judgmental toward your own voice so that you have an open heart to express your song to your audience. That is what performance is all about... opening your heart to your audience to make a heartfelt connection to all who hear you!
I have sung professionally for over 20 years and I still do around Texas and internationally with my own group, "Full Circle," the "Omar Lopez Band," "The Atlantics," and as a soloist at "Unity Church of the Hills." I specialize in singing and teaching:
R&B
jazz
musical theater
classical
I earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Howard University in Washington, DC, and a Master's of Arts from the prestigious, Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY.

Most people find it beneficial to take one lesson a week. You get the most consistency and results from one lesson a week as it gives you time to develop muscle memory of the exercises.
